The university is multilingual and courses are generally held in two of three languages: English, French or German. The academic year begins in mid-September. Following a one-week break the second semester begins in mid-February. Classes are suspended during the Easter break, then continue through the end of May. Again students are given a week to prepare for exams, which take place in June. July and August comprise the summer holidays. Tuition varies depending on the program but also depending on how many semesters the student has completed. Scholarships and grants are available for resident and international students. Bachelor’s students are required to spend at least one semester abroad, and exchange opportunities are offered at all levels.
