The Unique System of Education at Whitefield Business School
At WBS we have developed a 3-step approach to Education to develop a healthy, well-rounded, self-confident, and righteous individual with creative and critical thinking skills highly capable of meeting the challenges of life.
Step 1: Our Delivery Strategy
People have watched several sports games which makes them good at discussing and interpreting the game. What if these hours spent watching the game were spent playing the game? Education today is comparable to spectators (students) watching a game (attending a lecture) in a stadium (classroom)! Based on the above, we at WBS have decided to reinvent the way we deliver lectures and we have adopted what Confucius propagated:
“Tell me and I forget; Show me and I remember; Involve me and I understand” – Confucius
Step 2: Value-Based Education
There is an old saying that states that “Unless there is a behavior change, education has not occurred”. Therefore, mere acquisition, understanding, or retention of facts cannot be termed as complete education.
At Whitefield Business School (WBS), we believe that education should lead to a positive overall change in reasoning, feelings, mindset, and behavior. Many research have also pointed out that 85% of your success in life depends on your character and only 15% depends on your academic performance. Anyone undergoing the process of education should undergo a positive behavior change. Our behavior in turn is shaped by our thoughts and what influences our thoughts is our values! Therefore, values have been assigned critical importance in our education system at WBS and the fostering of values has been integrated with our education system and teaching strategies.
Step 3: Mental & Physical Health
Low rates of physical activity among young adults are believed to be the cause of high rates of obesity, depression, and anxiety in the world. Education would be of little use if, at the end of the day, one is unhealthy. As the adage goes: “health is the real wealth”. At WBS students will be educated about good healthy habits and encouraged to take up physical activities. Nutritionists are regularly invited to talk to students, psychologists will also be invited for counseling sessions and regular sports activities will also be organized on the premises to drive home the idea of physical and mental health in our students’ mindsets.
